The Journey Behind InvictorEd

Why did InvictorEd need to exist?

Over two decades of working across multiple higher education systems revealed a consistent pattern: international ambition was growing faster than the institutional capability required to support it. InvictorEd was created to help close that gap.

Every institution begins with a question. InvictorEd began with one that refused to go away.

After more than two decades spent building, leading and studying higher education across three of the world's most influential education ecosystems, Temmy Ogunsanya observed a pattern that would ultimately reshape the course of her career.

Universities around the world shared the same ambition: to expand internationally, build meaningful partnerships and create greater opportunities for students. Yet institutions pursuing remarkably similar goals often achieved very different outcomes. Some partnerships flourished, and others stalled. Some international strategies created lasting institutional value, while others generated activity without sustainable impact. The difference rarely came down to ambition alone.

Seeing Higher Education Through Multiple Lenses

Perspective
A Systems Perspective Built Across Institutions, Markets and Multiple Vantage Points

Temmy's career has spanned multiple dimensions of higher education. She has supported students through career development, student affairs and institutional programming; partnered with university leaders to strengthen admissions, partnerships and institutional engagement; and helped institutions expand their international presence through cross-border recruitment, market development and strategic collaboration.

Beyond institutional roles, she has experienced higher education from the perspective of an entrepreneur; building and leading a successful education enterprise that worked across multiple international markets. That experience provided firsthand insight into the realities of organisational growth, execution, partnership development and the systems required to sustain long-term international expansion.

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ESCC Education, she led the organisation's evolution into a trusted cross-border education partner, supporting universities across the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia and the United Arab Emirates in strengthening their engagement with African markets. The work extended beyond recruitment to building relationships, operational capability and the institutional trust required for sustainable international collaboration.

Her practical experience has been complemented by graduate scholarship, including a master's degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs from Texas Tech University and doctoral studies in Higher Education Administration and Leadership at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Together, scholarship and practice have shaped a perspective that views higher education as an interconnected system—where student success, institutional capability, governance, market development, organisational design and international strategy cannot be separated. It is this systems perspective that ultimately laid the intellectual foundation for InvictorEd.

The Question That Changed Everything

Working across institutions, markets and higher education systems revealed something that became increasingly difficult to ignore: the universities that achieved sustainable international success were rarely those with the largest budgets or the boldest ambitions.

Nor were they simply those that found the right partner or entered the right market. Instead, they shared something far more fundamental. They had built the conditions that allowed international ambition to succeed. They understood their markets. They developed trusted institutional relationships. They aligned strategy with operational capability. They strengthened student experience. They established governance, accountability and long-term performance systems. In short, they had built the foundations before they pursued expansion.

Successful cross-border higher education is not built on ambition alone. It is built on the market infrastructure that enables institutions to grow with confidence, resilience and lasting impact.

The Birth of InvictorEd

InvictorEd was not created from a single business idea or market opportunity. It emerged from more than two decades of experience, research, and strategic practice across multiple higher education systems, and from a growing conviction that sustainable international growth depends not only on ambition, but on the institutional capability and market infrastructure required to sustain it.

Over time, this conviction became increasingly difficult to ignore. Although universities were investing heavily in international activity, far less attention was being given to the institutional capability and market infrastructure required to sustain it. Consequently, international ambition was expanding, but the systems needed to support long-term success were often fragmented, underdeveloped or entirely absent.

That insight became the foundation for InvictorEd.

Today, InvictorEd represents the continuation of that journey: helping higher education institutions establish, grow and sustain successful cross-border education by building and strengthening the market infrastructure that enables enduring institutional capability. Through research, strategy, institutional partnerships and integrated market capability, InvictorEd helps universities move beyond isolated international initiatives to build coherent systems that create enduring value for institutions, students and society.

Because international ambition deserves more than momentum. It deserves the infrastructure built to endure.
